Belo Horizonte

The daily newspaper Estado de Minas (www.estaminas.com.br) has information about sports events and tickets, as does the Jornal Pampulha, which comes out on Saturday. Most city parks have short jogging paths, and running is common during the day. As elsewhere in Brazil, soccer is a big deal in Belo Horizonte. For amateur spelunkers, the mountains of Minas are replete with caves to be explored, though they must be seen with a tour guide (look for one at any cave's entrance booth).
