Fodor's Expert Review The Leaky Palapa
Nobody expected the kind of sophisticated flavors that the Leaky Palapa brought to town, but this little 11-table palapa restaurant done up in twinkling lights has quickly become the place to meet, enjoy a beer, and eat like kings. Feast on lobster bisque or seared shrimp on bean cakes with tamarind salsa. Although homemade pasta isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think tropical beach, the ravioli with corn truffle will convince you. Canadian owners Linda and Marla believe in using local ingredients as much as possible, so the menu changes weekly depending on what fishermen bring to the dock. Opening hours (and months) vary—check the website before arrival.
