Bus

Although the best way to travel from Lisbon to Sintra and most of the towns on the Estoril Coast is by train, there are some useful bus connections between these towns. From the bus terminal in Cascais, SCOTTurb buses travel to Guincho (15 minutes) and Sintra (30 minutes). Bus 417 is faster, but Bus 403 travels along a more scenic route.

Transportes Sul de Tejo (TST) buses run between Lisbon and destinations south of the Tagus, including Caparica, Sesimbra, and Setúbal. Service to beach destinations is more frequent in July and August than the rest of the year.

Tickets are cheap (less than €4 for most journeys), and departures are generally every hour (less frequently on weekends). Always arrive at least 15 minutes before your bus is scheduled to depart.
