Highways connect Lisbon with Sintra (A37), Estoril and Cascais (A5/IC15) and Setúbal (A2/IP1). Avoid departing from Lisbon at the start of a weekend or public holiday. The bridges crossing the Tagus—especially the Ponte 25 de Abril, but also the Ponte Vasco da Gama—can be very slow. Parking can be problematic too, particularly in summer along the Estoril Coast.
