Bilderberg Hotel Jan Luyken
Jan Luykenstraat 58, Amsterdam, North Holland 1071 CS, The NetherlandsWhy We Like It
This hotel offers good access to the Big Three museums on foot.
Fodor's Expert Review
This trio of quaint 19th-century townhouses offers a peaceful sanctuary with friendly service and an understated decor with hints of Art Nouveau. The Museumplein and fashionable shopping streets are just steps away, as is the Concertgebouw if you fancy hearing some classical music in a suitably grand setting.
You Should Know While there is an elevator, you may have to go up or down some stairs to reach your room.

Room
Bland guest rooms are decorated in a neutral color palette that fails to inspire. Amenities include queen-size beds, work desks, free (somewhat slow) Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, minibars, as well as tea- and coffeemakers.
Tip Kids up to 2 years stay free in a cot, and an extra bed can be added in Superior rooms. Pets are also welcome, but there is a surcharge.
Bathroom
Small, contemporary bathrooms have showers or shower-in-tubs (with shower curtains!), some of which could do with an update or better water pressure. There are also make-up mirrors, hair dryers, and standard Bilderberg bathroom products.
Lobby
The lobby is traditional and a bit boring, with a sitting area for relaxing after a hard day’s sightseeing. Staff are consistently praised for their professionalism.
You Should Know The hotel could do with a refurb. There are newer, more fresh-faced options in the area.
Spa
A "relaxation" room is equipped with a Turkish bath, solarium, and hot tub.
Dining
Breakfast is offered in a fairly sober space that doubles as a bar in the evenings.
Drinking
The in-house bar, Wines and Bites, serves coffee, tea, and snacks all day and cocktails in the evening.
