Situated in the ever-trendy Thong Lor area of Bangkok, this Marriott is an ultra-modern hotel that stands nearly 50 floors above the city. Inside, Marriott Reward members and families will love the bevy of amenities from a deluxe spa and fitness area to chic restaurants and a rooftop bar.

Room

Modern rooms feature white marble floors with red rugs and Thai-designed headboards. Coffee, tea, and water is complimentary, as are the amazing views.

You Should Know If you’re a Marriott Rewards member you’ll have access to free Wi-Fi. If not, you’ll be paying 642 Baht/day or about $20! SMH.

Bathroom

White marble themes continue into the bathroom with sunken tubs and walk-in showers. There’s a window from the tub into the bedroom, but you can close some shutters for privacy. Thann bath products are standard.

Lobby

Very high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and a grand staircase hover over ample lounge space. Throughout the lobby are Thai artifacts and fresh flowers changed daily.

Pool

Azure is the aptly named infinity pool that provides stunning views of the city. There’s a children’s pool as well for families and a pool bar with full food and beverage service.

Tip On Saturdays and Sundays, the hotel fires up the grill for a lunchtime barbecue from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Spa

The Anne Semonin-run spa features a variety of signature treatments from scrubs and facials to body wraps and massages. There are six treatment rooms including couples' rooms and there are nail and waxing services available as well.

Gym

A good-sized gym has hardwood floors and Life Fitness cardio machines and free weights. Inside the locker room is a sauna.

Tip Fitness classes here are free. Guests can indulge in morning yoga by the pool or get pumped up with circuit training and core classes.

Dining

There are a variety of dining options, but guests should make a point of eating dinner at District Grillroom & Bar for savory steaks and nightly live music.

Drinking

The District Grillroom & Bar has a great happy hour, but the real drinking destination is Octave Rooftop Bar & Lounge. Set atop the hotel and spanning floors 45-49, Octave has remarkable 360-degree views and is a Thong Lor favorite amongst locals and travelers alike.

Getting Around

It’s a very walkable area and the hotel is close to both the Thong Lor and Ekamai BTS Skytrain stations. The area is very safe and it’s also easy to hail a taxi.

Restaurants

Bo.Lan (8-minute walk) is consistently rewarded as the best Thai restaurant in Bangkok and must-not-miss while in this area. Freebird Restaurant Bangkok (7-minute drive) is one of the most inventive Japanese spots you’ll find--especially in an area that’s overflowing with Japanese cuisine.

Bars

The Iron Fairies (9-minute drive) is a fantastical bar with live jazz and creative cocktails. If you want a dance night, check out Beam Nightclub (9-minute drive) for loud club music and beat-dropping DJs.
