Why We Like It
The Altiplanico is one of few hotels that really nails minimalism and homeyness at the same time. Bellboy service means you can get anything you need, but it's easy to get a sense of privacy here as well. The hotel is quiet and serene, and delivers top-notch service in a very convenient part of the city.

The Altiplanico in Bellas Artes is part of a small, very smart chain of luxury hotels located around Chile. This example is ensconced in Bellas Artes, a vibrant part of the city, located steps from Parque Forestal and local attractions. The hotel façade blends in perfectly with the period architecture and inside, no expense has been spared to refurbish this 1906 construction into a contemporary, minimalist yet homey space for discerning travelers. Interior gardens give visitors private outdoor space in this bustling city. Honesty bar and afternoon teatime for guests.
You Should Know The area around the hotel is a bit quiet at night, and guests should plan on taking a taxi to the door late at night.

Room
Wide planked floors and blonde woodgrain accents complement these luminous minimalist rooms with modern lines with high quality bedding. There are built-in desks and separate dressing spaces in some rooms. Flat screen TVs and a coffee nook complete with a K-cup coffee maker.
Bathroom
Large mirrors and squared off pedestal sinks. Rooms have tiled or glass-surrounded showers, while suites have separate tubs, including some with large soaker tubs.
Tip Some rooms have a glass shower surround which does not afford much privacy. These rooms are probably best for couples.
Lobby
A sleek and cozy space with cutting edge interior design, including a fireplace and comfortable minimalist furniture for meeting other guests or relaxing with a book.

Getting Around
The hotel is close to the Bellas Artes Metro (1-minute walk), which is convenient for daytime exploring. It is also close to Lastarria, Bellas Artes, downtown Santiago and Bellavista. For late night comings and goings, most guests choose to take a taxi, Uber or Cabify.
Restaurants
The nearby restaurant strip on Lastarria (9-minute walk) is popular with guests, including having a bite to eat at the country's first wine bar at BocaNáriz, (8-minute walk) good seafood and main plates at nearby Chipe Libre (8-minute walk) (a Pisco-based bar) or at the newest iteration of Liguria, (8-minute walk) for Chilean food. Also close by in Bellavista is Peumayén, (18-minute walk) which has ancestral Chilean food. Farther afield, we recommend Ambrosía Bistro (9-minute drive) for innovative food or for traditional eats, El Ancla (11-minute drive). Downtown lunchtime hearty meals at the Mercado Central (9-minute walk) or Salvador Café & Cocina (16-minute walk).
Bars
Quite close to the hotel on the Lastarria strip are BocaNáriz (8-minute walk) for wine, and Chipe Libre (8-minute walk) for Pisco cocktails. A favorite spot for an al fresco glass of one is Castillo Forestal, (5-minute walk) or head into Patronato for good cocktails in a quirky environment at Sarita Colonia (8-minute walk) which is also a Peruvian restaurant. We also recommend wine up at La Misión (10-minute drive) up on Nueva Costanera for a great wine list and good food in a different neighborhood further uptown.
