Charleston's offshore waters have a host of man-made reefs teeming with aquatic life. Experienced divers can also independently explore the Cooper River Underwater Heritage Diving Trail, upriver from Charleston. The 2½-mile-long trail has six submerged sites, including ships that date to the Revolutionary War.
