Asheville Municipal Golf Course. This municipal course beside the Swannanoa River, owned by the city of Asheville but since 2012 under private management, is known for its firm and fast greens. Grove Park Golf Course. Dating from 1899, this beautiful course has been played by several U.S. presidents, most recently Barack Obama. Flocks of wild turkeys regularly visit the fairway. The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains are well worth the trip.
