The more interesting route would be through Louisville, Lexington, Knoxville and Asheville. The kids might enjoy Dollywood. You might see some black bears and waterfalls in Great Smoky Mts. National Park.

For a family trip from Chicago to Myrtle Beach in June:
- Consider breaking up the drive with stops in cities like Nashville or Asheville for sightseeing and kid-friendly attractions.
- Pack plenty of snacks, games, and entertainment for the journey.
- In Myrtle Beach, enjoy family-friendly activities like visiting the beach, exploring the boardwalk, mini-golfing, and visiting amusement parks.
- Check out family-friendly accommodations with amenities like pools and proximity to the beach.
- Research local events and festivals happening during your visit for added fun.
