Fodor's Expert Review Edith's
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Named after the founder's great-aunt, Edith's has certainly come a long way since being a pop-up out of a Greenpoint pizzeria. Today, it's two eateries: a walk-up Sandwich Counter serving hand-twisted bagels and Jewish-inspired sandwiches—both Middle Eastern- and Ashkenazi-inspired. Five minutes away at 312 Leonard Street is the sit-down Eatery & Grocery, with a broader all-day menu of pan-Jewish brunch platters, open weekends until 5 pm and weekdays until 3 pm (except Tuesday and Wednesday).
