4 Best Nightlife in Meatpacking District, New York City

B On Top

Meatpacking District

The slick rooftop bar of the Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC hotel would be worth visiting even without its sweeping Hudson River and Manhattan views. Sleek and glossy, B On Top has blue Portuguese tiles, an abundance of natural light, cool furnishings, and sexy servers. The music isn't too loud, and there is ample space—indoors as well as out. Cocktails are predictably pricey, but there are weekday happy-hour specials from 5 to 7 pm.

Brass Monkey

Meatpacking District
Opened in 2004, when the Meatpacking District was just starting to become trendy, the wood-clad Brass Monkey is still around and more popular than ever. And what a minor miracle that is, given that it's a true neighborhood bar, lacking the glamour and glitz that attracts scenesters to the area from far and wide. This might well be part of the bar's appeal. Also appealing, though, is that, in warm weather, you can plant yourself on the rooftop, enjoy the sun and the views, and raise your glass to that funky monkey.

Le Bain

Meatpacking District

Crowning The Standard Hotel, this two-floor club might not be that easy to get into, but once you're in, you'll be breathing the same oxygen as A-list celebs, lanky models, and the people who love them. The music veers to the house and techno variety, and the views of the Hudson River are spectacular. Oh yeah, did we mention there's a Jacuzzi? Be sure to bring your bathing suit.

The Standard Hotel Biergarten

Meatpacking District

Practically the official bar of the High Line park, the Standard Biergarten is a sprawling, bustling space complete with table tennis, bench tables, and big steins of beer. For food, there's a grill that churns out all manner of Teutonic-accented sausages; other kitchen offerings include giant soft pretzels, crispy wings, and Berlin street food favorite currywurst.
