East Side and West Side

South of Interstate 40 and the Northeast Heights, the East Side bridges the older and historic parts of Route 66 with pockets of newer development of an upscale nature. Bicyclists frequent the nearby Tramway trails, and you might continue on into the mountains, but the area’s charms are otherwise sparse—though you will want to make time for the destination-worthy National Museum of Nuclear Science & History.
