The Godfrey Hotel Boston

505 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111

Why We Like It

Downtown Crossing is close to many of Boston's biggest attractions.

Fodor's Expert Review

Downtown Crossing is the epitome of a melting pot, and the Godfrey Hotel is smack dab in the middle of it. Centrally located just a short walk from Boston Common, the Godfrey strives to offer both a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. The lobby is flanked by a coffee shop, George Howell, on one side and RUKA, a Peruvian-Asian restaurant on the other. The result is a busy, high energy area without attitude.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

One of the Godfrey's greatest strengths is its location in the middle of it all. Downtown Crossing is just a short walk from the Financial District, Boston Common, Beacon Hill, and shopping on Newbury Street. The Godfrey is also just steps from several MBTA subway stops, with the Downtown Crossing stop on the Orange Line being the closest. Keep in mind that finding a parking spot in Downtown Crossing is essentially impossible, however there is a garage under Boston Common if you're wiling to pay the price.

Restaurants

Dotted with some of Boston's best hotspots, the Downtown area where the Godfrey is located is a short distance from Yvonne's (3 minute walk) a modern day supper club, and No. 9 Park (5 minute walk) a Barbara Lynch fine-dining classic.

Bars

Stoddard's Fine Food & Ale (1 minute away) is a popular bar just around the corner, while jm Curley (2 minutes away) is a bar/restaurant that serves up creative food and drink.
