Opening in Spring of 2018, No. 284 is a fascinating historic property turned luxurious guest lodging house. Commissioned in 1880 by Summer Rust Mead, a dealer of hosiery, gloves, and small wares, No. 284 was was among the first homes to be built on this block of Commonwealth Ave., known as on of the Back Bay's most prestigious streets. Formerly used as the Boston Speech School for Crippled Children, Copley School of Expression, and Phil Saltman Music Studios, No. 284 is set to provide a luxurious, 23-room guest house experience.

Step inside No. 284 and you're greeting by the front desk, where a knowledgable concierge service can accomodate all your needs. The well-kept library is full of books and comfortable seating for guests to gather and socialize, and in the evening, there's a beverage center on the ground floor.

No. 284 is just a 6-minute walk from the Hynes Convention Center stop on the MBTA's Green Line. It's stellar Back Bay location means it's just a few minutes on foot from plenty of major attractions, including Copley Square and the Prudential Center.

For soups, salads, and sandwiches, head to Trident Booksellers & Cafe (4-minute walk) just one street over on Newbury. It's got a great outdoor patio, as does Cafeteria Boston (2-minute walk). For fine dining experience, slice up a steak at the Capital Grille (4-minute walk).
