Islands of Adventure Family Tour

As you go through IOA, try to pretend that you are not so much a park guest as you are a fledgling explorer and amateur sociologist (sometimes just watching people having fun is the fun). Imagine that you're taking in an entirely new world, rather than merely visiting a theme park.

In Marvel Super Hero Island, most guests race into the Hulk roller coaster and Spider-Man attractions. Instead, spend some time on the bridge or along the waterfront, where you can watch the frequent launching of the Hulk coaster and perhaps meet some of Marvel's superheroes.

In Jurassic Park's Camp Jurassic, paths loop through a prehistoric playground. Why not get lost for a while? Take time to explore the hallowed halls of Hogwarts and surrounding Hogsmeade village at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Lost Continent, with its tents and crafters and colorful bangles, is yet another place to stop and take things in.

Toon Lagoon, the less intense alternative to Super Hero Island, provides plenty of places to explore, including a marked path that lets you follow the trail of Billy (of Family Circus comic fame), who's wandered off on his own. At Seuss Landing, find a quiet place to sit and spend some time just watching children (and adults). The closest thing here to a fountain of youth is spinning on a carousel, riding on a Seussian trolley, and meeting the fabled Cat in the Hat.
