Miniature Golf

If minigolf is your game, Disney has two courses, but there are several others in Orlando.

Hollywood Drive-In Golf at Universal CityWalk. With a science-fiction alien invasion course paired with a 1950s horror movie monster course, there's something for kids and fun-loving adults alike. Spectacular lighting and sound effects mean that the play is different day and night. A 36-hole Double Feature package is available, and the course is generally open until 2 am for after-theme-park romping. 6000 Universal Blvd., CityWalk, Orlando, Florida, 32819. 407/802–4848; hollywooddriveingolf.com. From $18.

Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. Two, 18-hole, miniature golf courses with a buccaneer theme wind around artificial mountains, through caves, beside waterfalls, and into lush foliage. For beginner's, there's the Captain's Course; Blackbeard's Challenge is more demanding. In addition to this location, there is one in Lake Buena Vista (near Disney). 8501 International Dr., Orlando, Florida, 32819. 407/827–1242; www.piratescove.net. From $12. Daily 9 am–11 pm.

Congo River. In this clever creation, it's miniputt meets theme park as multilevel courses wander amid waterfalls, rocky summits, caves, and rain forests. Popular with families and, believe it or not, couples, kids are the prime audience. They love the live alligators (not loose on the course), the arcade room, and the treasure hunt. Congo River also has locations in Kissimmee and East Orlando. 5901 International Dr., International Drive, Orlando, Florida, 32819. 407/248–9181; www.congoriver.com. From $13. Sun.–Thurs. 10 am–11 pm, Fri. and Sat. 10 am–midnight.
