Los Rios Rancho

In operation since 1906, Los Rios apple farm is home to a fantastic country store where you can buy jams, syrups, and candied apples. Drop by the bakery for a hot tri-tip sandwich before heading outside to the picnic grounds to enjoy your lunch. In fall, you can pick your own apples and pumpkins, take a hayride, or enjoy live bluegrass music. In the summer, the farm hosts free Movies on The Green, as well as Old West Weekend—a three-day festival where you can experience 19th-century living on America's frontier.

Mom's Country Orchards

Oak Glen's informal information center is at Mom's, where you can head to the samples bar and learn about the nuances of apple tasting, or warm up with fresh-pressed hot cider. In addition to organic produce, local honey, apple butter, and jams, the store also sells handmade aprons, goat-milk soap, lavender products, and more.

Rancho Fruit Market

This cheerful little shop sells honey, "uglies" (shrivel-skinned but deliciously sweet tangerines), and other locally sourced produce. Much of it is organic, and the prices are reasonable. Sweet tooths head straight for the chocolate-dipped fruit and caramel apples.
