The namesake ramen bowl at this perennial "best ramen in San Francisco" contender boasts a consistently powerful tonkotsu broth base that cooks for 18 hours and chewy noodles that attract the harshest of critics. Its space, at the northern edge of the Mission, is airy and geometric, service is quick and friendly, and the wait is remedied (slightly) by the small front bar that sells sakes and beers.
