Fodor's Expert Review Roots Jazz Club
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Locals and tourists mingle here to enjoy contemporary jazz and flamenco music (piped in during the afternoon but live at night). The performances are the main attraction, but there's also an eclectic, international menu of salads, soups, sandwiches, and pastas. The tables nearest the window, along the quaint pedestrianized Avenida Tulipanes, are the best place to tuck into your chíchí (chicken breast stuffed with ham and veggies) or German sausage, since the stage area tends to get crowded. This candlelit venue also frequently hosts local art events.
