Right across from the beach, this popular surf shop rents surfboards ($20 per day) and boogie boards and offers group lessons four times a day ($45, for ages three and up), as well as private lessons ($80). Witch's Rock Surf Camp. This hip, popular hotel, restaurant, and surf school is surfer central in Tamarindo, with a large surf shop and all the latest gear and board rentals. Surf lessons ($85) include all-day board rental, in-water training, and a surf seminar, such as a shaping tutorial with Robert August of Endless Summer fame. Courses for intermediate and advanced surfers are also on offer. If you're just looking to rent a board, this is the place—they have the most solid quiver in town. The shop is right on the beach, just steps from the best surf breaks.
