Performances by Kraków's most prominent dance company (as well as other dance troupes) are held at the Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury (Nowa Huta Cultural Centre). Near Nowa Huta's Central Square, the Center is a 20- to 30-minute tram ride or a 10-minute taxi ride from Kraków's Old Town.

The stunning Teatr im. Juliusza Słowackiego is well worth visiting, if only to see the architecture and feel the atmosphere of the historical theater, which has been continuously operating since 1893. Słowacki hosts dramatic performances by the local theater group, as well as visiting performances of concerts, opera, and ballet. Although the main opera stage moved to a modern building in Lubicz street, if you manage to catch one at the Słowacki, it's a treat.
