Lange Jan Abdijtoren

The most noticeable feature of the town's formidable abbey complex is an octagonal clock tower attached to the Choral Church. The stone edifice, 280 feet high, was constructed in the 14th century and is topped with an 18th-century onion-shape dome. This landmark is visible not only throughout the town, but throughout most of Walcheren as well. Climb the 207 steps to the top for a simply stunning view of the city and the surrounding area.
