Fodor's Expert Review

The first Berlin outpost of the hip European boutique chain Sir Hotels, Sir Savigny appeals to the creative class with its eclectic, arty interiors and urbane vibe. The 1893 building in Charlottenburg was smartly refurbished in 2016 and features small but beautifully designed rooms, outfitted with rich fabrics, vintage carpets and custom furnishings. A big draw for locals and guests alike is its restaurant, The Butcher, which originated in Amsterdam and serves top-notch burgers and fries.

Bathroom

Sleek, gray-tiled bathrooms come equipped with powerful rainforest showers, fluffy towels and Dead Clean products; a modern freestanding bathtub graces the Sir Suites.

The open-plan lobby resembles a chic living room, with several comfortable lounging nooks, as well as a book-lined center area with a long communal wood table where breakfast is served each morning. The coziest spot is the back room, with a gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden.

Tip The hotel’s event program includes live jazz nights and occasional readings in English.
