Why We Like It

Fresh, modern design, large, affordable rooms and solid amenities like kitchenettes and laundry on site make this hotel ideal for a longer-term stay in the city. Its location near top attractions like Museum Island and the newly opened Opera House also make it a top choice for first-time visitors.

Fodor's Expert Review

Opened in mid-2017, this new-build hotel is modern, stylish and particularly well-suited to business travelers, with large studios and one-bedrooms featuring kitchenettes and super-speedy free Wi-Fi, plus a 24/7 gym and self-service laundry room. The property is located on a busy intersection in Mitte, but you wouldn’t know it—the floor-to-ceiling soundproofed windows block out the traffic noise while letting in lots of light.

Tip The Capri brand’s signature “Spin & Play” laundry rooms offer Wii, Xbox, iPads, punching bags and exercise machines to keep you fully entertained while you wash and dry.

Room

All of the four room categories are generous in size, with the entry level Studio Deluxe averaging around 300 square feet. Light wood floors, tall windows and crisp white linens add to the bright, airy vibe, while designer Kartell and Herman Miller furnishings feel fresh and modern. Fully fitted modern kitchenettes are in all rooms, while the one-bedroom apartments feature separate living/dining areas and in-room washer/dryer.

Bathroom

Large gray- and beige marble bathrooms feature rainforest showers, Malin + Goetz toiletries and lighted mirrors.

Lobby

The sprawling lobby is bright and inviting, with colorful contemporary seating, including playful spinning-top chairs, and different areas to work or socialize. The glass floor in the foyer provides a view of the remains of cellar vaults of the old Berlin houses that once stood on this site.

Gym

The 24/7 high-tech gym is stocked with the latest equipment, including TRX suspension training.

Dining

The sleek ground-floor restaurant has all-day dining with an international menu, but is mainly occupied at breakfast.

Drinking

The long, narrow, slickly designed lobby bar, Drinx, serves good cocktails, local BRLO craft beer and has great daily happy hour specials.

Restaurants

Brauhaus Georgbraeu (7-minute walk) is a bit touristy, but you can overlook that as it sports a lovely riverside setting (especially during warm weather, when the terrace is open) and rather tasty house-brewed beers. Bars

Named after the legendary German photographer Helmut Newton and with his giant nude photos adorning the walls, the Newton Bar (14-minute walk) is a fashionable spot for good cocktails. One of Berlin’s most famous clubs, House of Weekend (16-minute walk) packs them in with top-notch DJs and a spectacular 15th-floor roof terrace.
