Bike Travel

The Dordogne is prime biking territory. In particular, the hour-long ride between Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac might just be one of your fondest experiences in France; and let's not forget daylong bike trips through the neighboring Célé Valley and the 35-km (22-mile) trip to the prehistoric Grotte du Pech Merle outside the town of Cabrerets. Happily, there are plenty of cyclotourisme operators who rent bikes in assorted styles and sizes. Electric bicycles are increasingly available, too.
