Boat and Ferry

The Jadrolinija ferries no longer travel between Dubrovnik and Rijeka, but ferries run daily from Rijeka to the islands of Cres, ILovik, Pag, Unije, Rab, and Susak. There is also a ferry from Brestova (several miles down the road from Lovran) that connects to Cres and Losinj. From June to September, as many as 13 ferries depart daily. Prices vary according to season, but expect to pay €2.50 a person (€16 if you have a car) during the summer; rates fall as much as 20% in the low season. Ferries also run between Valbiska on the island of Krk and Merag on the island of Cres.

Every day in high season, G&V Line has a fast passenger boat that travels from Rijeka to Krk, Rab, Silba, and Zadar. Meanwhile, a catamaran service heads out to Rab at 5 pm and drops into the northern Dalmatian island of Pag about 2½ hours later. Tourist boats and water taxis offering transport on shorter stretches are also abundant at many resorts.
