Fodor's Expert Review Tiki Hut

$$$ Turtle Cove Eclectic

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

From a location overlooking the marina, the ever-popular Tiki Hut serves consistently tasty, value-priced meals in a fun atmosphere. Locals take advantage of the Wednesday-night chicken-and-rib special, and the lively bar is a good place to sample local Turk's Head brew. There's a special family-style menu, the best kids' menu on Provo. Don't miss pizzas made with the signature white sauce, or the jerk wings, coated in a secret barbecue sauce and then grilled—they're out of this world. The restaurant can be busy, with long waits for tables. It's part of a little drama on the island; 23 years ago they settled right on the water and then moved to a much larger location at the end of the marina. For you die-hard fans, they have moved “back to where it all began.” However, it is bigger and better than ever. Doug, one of the longtime owners, has upscaled the operation since it last sat here, offering four different seating options: lounge-style closest to the water, a beer garden picnic-table deck for regular fare, undercover A-frame indoor dining, and Bamboo Room poolside dining as an option for private parties.
