3 Best Shopping in Bermuda

Bermuda Bookstore

Fodor's choice

Owner Hannah Willmott doesn't believe in wasting space, so she crammed as many books as she could into her small bookstore. The shop is known for its cozy atmosphere and engaging staff, and is well stocked with best sellers, children's books, and special Bermuda titles (including some out-of-print books), plus diaries and calendars.

Bookmart

The island's largest bookstore carries plenty of contemporary titles and classics, plus a complete selection of books on Bermuda. Paperbacks and children's books are here in abundance, as well as a wide selection of popular beauty, technology, and travel books. The Hallmark store at the front of the shop offers the expected greeting cards, balloons, party supplies, and little gift items. Its café has a balcony overlooking Front Street, perfect for grabbing a sandwich or a drink after a hard day's shopping.

The Griot

Come to this shop for the thoughtful selection of books by black authors, particularly by Bermudian authors with cultural relevance to Bermuda's black history and the island's struggles with racism. There is also African art and African artisan crafts for sale. But The Griot is more than just a shop—it's also a space that hosts relevant events to further build community understanding and provide a safe space for those of African descent to explore their shared culture.
