Just 45 minutes by boat from Nha Trang, the island of Hon Mun is considered one of the best dive destinations in the South China Sea. Further north at Van Phuong Bay is the more spectacular Whale Island, where Jacque Cousteau conducted his first Vietnamese explorations. Nha Trang has all kinds of water-related activities, including snorkeling, Jet Skiing, scuba diving, and boating. You can rent equipment through most hotels or operators right on the beach.
