As a thriving business hub, Ho Chi Minh City works hard and plays hard. You'll find plenty of lively bars and nightclubs all across District 1. The performing arts are largely represented by the Saigon Opera House and the French-government-funded Idecaf venue, which both hold regular concerts. English-language films either have Vietnamese subtitles or are dubbed (very loudly) into Vietnamese.
