Eastern Jeju

Blessed with pristine coastlines, scenic volcanic cones, dramatic seaside cliffs and thick forests, eastern Jeju is a land of great scenic beauty and natural splendor. It's also a region of sharp contrasts: some places like Woljeong-ri have been overrun by tourists, while others places such as Sehwa retain much of the island's old-school charm.

Many visitors to this part of the island come to see Seongsan Ilchulbong, a dramatic coastal tuff cone and one of Jeju's most iconic images. Another popular destination is Udo Island, a "Jeju in miniature" with white sand beaches, volcanic stone-lined paths, and relaxing seaside scenery.
