Jeju-si, or Jeju City, is the provincial capital and economic hub of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and home to nearly 490,000 people. Technically speaking, the "city" takes up the entire northern half of the island, but the urban core is located on the northcentral coast.

Home of Jeju International Airport, Jeju City is best known as the gateway to island. It's also home to many of Jeju's major hotels, shops, restaurants, and other visitor resources. It's also a increasingly pleasant place in its own right, with plenty of history, hip eateries, trendy cafes, and a vibrant nightlife.
