Banks and ATMs are plentiful in cities and tourist destinations throughout this region. Even smaller, local Chinese banks have plentiful ATMs with the VISA logo. Most ATMs have a Y3,000 daily limit. It is advisable to secure sufficient cash before going into remote areas, just in case.
