Nothing beats a sunset dinner overlooking Stone Town, and it's even more special on the rooftop of a 200-year-old restored sultans palace. Mashariki Palace presents fine dining, great service, and some memorable food. It has more space in the dining area than other roof-top terraces and easy access off Forodhani square. Order the day before if you would like a seafood platter, and if it's to your taste, try the octopus carpaccio—it's out of this world.
