When to Go

Peak Season: June to September

The cool, dry weather of the southern hemisphere's winter months (about 75 degrees) makes hiking as pleasant as it gets on the island. Summer break on mainland France brings large numbers vacationing families.

Off Season: November to March

Cyclone season is fully underway by December with frequent and heavy rains. Temperatures reach upwards of 85 degrees and the humidity index is high.

Shoulder Season: April to May, October

Towards the end of the wet, summer season, Reunion's impressive botanical bounty is in full bloom and the trees are bursting with ripe tropical fruits. October catches the tail end of the lovely winter weather, and thankfully without the crowds.
