About the Hotels

Although Reunion's tourist industry has suffered its share of knocks in the past decade, there've been enough ups to establish a well-heeled host of hotels throughout the island. The majority of the 5-star resorts overlook the islands pristine beaches or in converted 19th-century mansions in town. In the island's interior, accommodations adopt a somewhat rougher, natural spirit—bungalows, lodges, and smaller cottages are the order of the day. Backpackers and budget travelers can find the most value outside the major tourist centers. Best Western is one of the few chain hotels on the island.
