Hotel 75

Allenby 75, Tel Aviv, Israel

Why We Like It

Sometimes, what you crave in a hotel is the bare-bones basics: A clean and comfy bed, a central location and a warm welcome. This hotel has it, plus loads of warm charm. It's not fancy, but it's fun.

Fodor's Expert Review

Young and friendly with some nice and thoughtful touches, this is a no-frills hotel that nevertheless welcomes you with a warm smile (and free coffee and cookies). Located in an office complex on busy, somewhat gritty Allenby Street, the hotel puts you in the heart of urban Tel Aviv within easy access of the Carmel Market. It's not fancy and it's not tranquil, but it's clean and cheery, and sometimes that's all you need.

Room

Colorful details like bright pillows and a street art-inspired ceiling give the snug rooms character. There's a big comfy bed and fun Hebrew lessons posted in word stickers posted around the room, but furnishings like rugs are on the cheaper end, and windows aren't always clean.

You Should Know Allenby Street gets noisy at night, as can the hallways of this youth-focused hotel. If you're a partier, this place will jive. If you're not, bring earplugs or book elsewhere.

Bathroom

Clean and basic, the bathroom offers everything you need to get clean, including complimentary toiletries and a pretty powerful shower.

Lobby

The lobby is small and cramped but the staff is bright and friendly. A small kitchenette off to the side offers complimentary tea, coffee and cookies.

Tip When you enter from Allenby Street, take the elevator up to the third floor to find the check-in desk. It can be confusing, but then you'll head back downstairs with your room key to head into your room.

You're as central as it gets at this hotel, which means there are buses and taxis galore just outside on Allenby Street and it's also easy, on Tel Aviv's flat and compact streets, to walk to just about every major tourist site.

Restaurants

For the best falafel, shwarma and street food that Tel Aviv has to offer, head to locals’ favorite HaKosem (15-minute walk); for killer burgers and steaks in a fun atmosphere, weave your way through the Carmel Market toward M25 (6-minute walk).

Bars

At Kuli Alma (10-minute walk), the underground bar and party scene is one part art exhibition, one part social justice project and many parts fun; if you're looking for a classy night out, head to Suramare (6-minute taxi), a rooftop garden in the sky serving up well-made drinks and a recipe for a fun-packed night.
