Fodor's Expert Review Te'enim

$$ Center City Vegetarian

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

In the classic limestone Confederation House—with stone arches, flagstone floors, and tantalizing views of the Old City walls—Te'enim finds a delicate balance between traditional and innovative in its vegetarian fare. Great choices include the spinach salad with baked ricotta or the endive salad with Roquefort and arugula. Standard main dishes include polenta with black beans and corn, mushroom and seaweed pie, and the maharajah majadra, with bulgur, lentils, onions, ginger chutney, and yogurt. The homemade sorbets and ice creams are excellent.
