This laid-back beach destination, famous for its sunshine and white-sand shores, has excellent waves for surfing and great opportunities for fishing and adventure sports. Although the relaxed but dusty town has tourist offices, restaurants, and small shops, the real attraction is the line of hotels about 2 km (1 mile) south along Las Pocitas, a lovely string of beaches with rocky outcrops that hold tiny pools of seawater at low tide.
Not everyone has the courage to explore these macabre destinations. Do you?
