The neo-Gothic Palacio Vergara, erected after the 1906 earthquake as the residence of the wealthy Vergara family, houses the Museo de Bellas Artes. Inside is a collection of classical paintings dating from the 15th to the 19th century, including works by Rubens and Tintoretto. A highlight is the intricate parquet floor—you'll be given booties to wear over your shoes so as not to scuff it up.
