Fodor's Expert Review Patagonia Camp

Camino al Milodón, Km 74, Parque Nacional Torres Del Paine, Magallanes, 6160000, Chile Fodor's Choice

These luxury yurts fully immerse you in the romance and wilderness of the Patagonian landscape; enjoy the sounds of the whistling winds and patter of rain, gaze onto the expanse of stars on a peaceful night, and awake to a spectacular sunrise over the blue glacial waters of Lake Del Toro, all from the comfort of your king-size bed in a heated yurt with a full tub and rain shower. In the communal areas, you can plan your escapades and adventures into the national park and Patagonia Camp's own 42,000-hectare private estate, where you can kayak, SUP-board, and hike. Every evening, guests can share their adventure tales over pisco sours and wine (from the owner's highly regarded vineyard in Casablanca, no less) before indulging in a daily changing menu of excellent Patagonian cuisine. There are lots of local ingredients on the menu, including their own filtered water supply from a private lake, which happens to be some of the cleanest and most delicious water in Chile. You'll need to keep hydrated in order to keep up with the 26 excursions on offer, which range from sightseeing and nature trails in the park to adventurous treks on the W and an ascent up Castillos Mountain that rewards you with a full view of Torres del Paine and Puerto Natales.
