Language

Spanish is the predominant language in the cities, and Bolivian Spanish is one of the easiest on the continent to understand. Quechua and Aymara are spoken by highlanders who may or may not also speak Spanish, and Guaraní is spoken in some parts of the Amazon basin. Hotel staffs usually have some knowledge of English, French, or German. Learning a few words of Spanish will go down well–in many places people will assume you can speak it.
