Maipu

Lying south and slightly east of Mendoza City, Maipú—the province’s oldest wine region—is spread over the districts of General Gutierrez, Coquimbito, and Cruz de Piedra. While not as glamorous as neighboring Luján de Cuyo, on the other side of the Acceso Sur, Maipú does have its virtues. Thirty-odd bodegas are open to tourism and they, together with local tour operators, provide some of the province’s most affordable wine-themed experiences.
