People flock from all over the world to empty their wallets at touristy Cabaña Las Lilas next door, but locals in the know (or those who can't get a table at Las Lilas) come instead to this big, lively, informal steak house, where you can pay much less for good, quality meat. Sip champagne at the friendly bar while you wait for a table. The parrilla is wood-fired, Uruguayan style, and the asado de tira (rack of beef short ribs) is a highlight, but you also can't go wrong with the classic bife de chorizo (bone-in sirloin or rump steak). There's another branch by the Recoleta mall next to the cemetery, but this one is superior.
