A Good Tour of Cheyenne

Park your car at the Old West Museum 1, within Frontier Park; this museum houses displays on the history of the region, plus the largest collection of horse-drawn vehicles anywhere in Wyoming. After you tour the museum, cross the street for a stroll through the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens 2.

Head south on Carey Avenue; make a left on 24th Street to reach the Wyoming State Capitol 3. Park along the street or turn right onto Central Avenue to look for parking. Take a self-guided tour of the capitol building, and note the statue out front of Esther Hobart Morris, who helped make Wyoming the first state to grant women the right to vote. Cross Central Avenue to the Wyoming State Museum 4, housing artifacts from across the state.

Timing

You could visit all of the sights within the city in a day. Several sights close on Sunday.
