Across from Seattle on the south end of Lake Washington, the Hyatt Regency is a luxurious property that debuted in 2017. Right on the lakefront with panoramic views of the water, city, and Olympic Mountains, the contemporary hotel is located in an industrial area that includes Boeing’s assembly plant. In fact, some rooms overlook a hanger and runway for fresh-off-the-line 737 jets. With brand-new guestrooms, amenities such as a spa and a pool, and Hyatt Regency-level quality, the hotel has plenty of appeal for business and pleasure travelers alike.
You Should Know It’s a 20-minute drive to Seattle, but beware: The trip can be a huge hassle during rush hour. Ask at the hotel for tips to avoid the standstill traffic. On the other hand, it’s a (usually) stress-free 15-minute drive to Sea-Tac Airport.

Room
Staying at a new upscale hotel is a special treat. Everything is fresh, on-trend, and up-to-date with handy little features like USB outlets and smart lighting. Spacious guestrooms, with warm modern wood tones and soft hues, include the Hyatt’s plush signature bed and a 65” flat-screen TV. It’s definitely worth an upgrade to a room with a view of the lake and the bird reserve next to the hotel. The most luxurious suites include a private outdoor terrace.

Don’t stay at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington without a car unless you don’t plan to leave. To get to Seattle, there are two options. I-90, which crosses Mercer Island, is a long floating bridge that connects with I-5 North. I-520, also known as the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, is a toll highway that’s usually a little less congested than I-90.
Restaurants
Next to the Hyatt, the charming Peyrassol Café (5-minute walk) is a petite French bistro serving classics such as beef bourguignon, slow-braised duck, and seafood crepes. Seattle’s Ivar’s chain has locations throughout the area that range from casual to upscale. Close to the hotel on the waterfront, this family-friendly Ivar’s Seafood Bar (5-minute walk) is the former, with fast-casual items like fish ‘n’ chips and salmon chowder.
Bars
There isn’t a lot of nightlife nearby, but options include Sweet Decadence is an artisan spot (5-minute drive or 15-minute walk) that sells high-end chocolates, perfect espresso, and wine by the glass, and Trencher’s Kitchen and Tap (5-minute drive or 15-minute walk) has a great beer selection, pub food, and trivia nights. There’s also parking to make things easy.
