The Best Family and Kid Friendly Hotels in Washington D.C.
Residence Inns, Embassy Suites and Holiday Inns are excellent choices for family travelers to DC, especially because they typically offer a swimming pool and free breakfast. If you want a little pizzazz with your family stay, however, here are some options that aren’t quite as chain-y. These hotels are family-friendly and fantastic.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC
Why it made the list
If you’re in DC to see the Smithsonian museums and/or catch a game at the Capital One Arena, this Kimpton hotel couldn’t be better placed. Among its kid-approved perks: hula hoops, chocolate chip cookies for afternoon arrivals, and the chance to choose a toy from a treasure chest during the nightly wine hour. There are also junior-size public bikes and helmets to hop on and tootle around the town.

What kid will not relish picking a new toy from an overflowing chest of goodies as soon as he or she arrives at the hotel? Kids also enjoy George Washington storybooks, popcorn and lemonade in summer, and a family friendly movie in the living room.
