Because Dinosaurland is lesser-known than other parts of the state, bikers can often escape the crowds and enjoy some scenic solitude. The Uinta Basin has some 100 miles of trails. Bring plenty of water and sunblock.

Altitude Cycle. To talk to knowledgeable cyclists about local trails off-the-beaten path, stop in here; they can set you up with trail guides, repairs, and accessories. Ask for a map of biking hot spot McCoy Flats, just 6½ miles west of the shop, off Highway 40. There you'll find 35 miles of trails to explore. 580 E.
