Air Travel

No matter where you plan on spending your time in South Texas, an airport will be relatively nearby. For travelers to South Padre Island, Brownsville and Harlingen airports are battling for your business. Brownsville has the closer airport, but Harlingen's is served by more airlines. Fly into Harlingen on Southwest through Austin, Houston, and San Antonio; on Continental through Houston; and on American through Dallas. Sun Country also runs non-stop flights from Minneapolis to Harlingen from November to April. Brownsville has daily flights year-round to and from Houston on Continental. McAllen's airport has daily flights through Houston on Continental, and through Dallas on American. Flights into Corpus Christi come directly only through Houston (on Continental and Southwest), and Dallas (on American).
